Installation instructions for the accumulator tank insulation

Installing accumulator tank insulation is simple, and you can do it yourself without any special tools. Properly installed insulation keeps the water in the accumulator tank warm, reduces heat loss, and helps lower your heating costs. Poorly installed insulation allows heat to escape and reduces the efficiency of the entire system. Take your time and follow the steps one by one.

Before you begin, make sure the insulation kit contains everything (see Figure 1):

1. Insulation panels – the number of panels depends on the size of the storage tank
2. Separate bottom insulation under the storage tank (without a plastic cover)
3. Plastic sheeting for insulation
4. Plastic Covers for Connectors

Accumulator tank insulation thickness

Choose the thickness based on the tank’s capacity:

• 60–400-liter storage tanks – 50 mm
• 500–3,000-liter storage tanks – 100 mm

The insulation consists of insulation wool covered with white, UV- and heat-resistant plastic.

Preparing to install the insulation

The accumulator tank and insulation are shipped separately. First, install the accumulator tank in its final location, and only then begin installing the insulation. Leave enough space around the tank to allow for comfortable work.

Step-by-step installation of accumulator tank insulation

1. Install floor insulation. Place the insulation layer under the bottom of the accumulator tank.

2. Install the side panels. Place the side panels around the accumulator tank. To make the job easier, use a tension strap —this will hold the panels in place and make the insulation process much simpler. Connect the side panels to each other using the grooves (see Figure 2 and Figure 3).

3. Secure the joints. Once all the insulation boards are in place, secure the joints with self-tapping screws if necessary.

4. Put the plastic cover on. Place the insulation on the accumulator tank and cover it with a plastic cover. If necessary, secure the cover with self-tapping screws.

5. Secure the connector housings. Attach the plastic covers to the connectors (see Figure 4).

Done!

That’s it – the accumulator tank insulation is installed, and the tank is ready to be connected and used. Properly installed insulation retains heat more effectively and helps reduce your heating costs.
